John has deep and broad experience across multiple roles and industries. With a Computer Science degree from MIT, John set out on his early career as a developer in the software world with a particular focus on serving the banking industry. From there, ten years in the insurance industry in a variety of roles including lead developer, lead designer, and architect.

John then set out to join his first startup, which was a successful product, but not a successful business in the end. Then on to the credit card industry for several years. After that, a four year stint in Retail as a chief architect. John then went back to payments with seven years in the fleet fuel card space, first leading an innovation practice, and then leading a global team of hundreds.

Then it was time for more startup, with a two year stint at a startup in the loan business, which then pivoted to a software provider for loan servicing. Having launched two viable products to market, it was back to "corporate" with a CTO role at a large international integrated payments company. Here John set technical directions, including cloud strategy and Authentication strategy, as well as organizational design.
